Schools often jump straight to classroom strategies when implementing character education then wonder why it is ineffective.  This work must first be personal.  Before we can help our students develop character, we need to examine our own.  Secondly, before teachers can help students understand the importance of respecting others, they must respect one another.  The’ Me Work’ and the ‘We Work’ is foundational to ‘The Work’ of implementing effective character education.
